And The Winner Is…

Earlier in May, we mentioned in a previous article how The Worlds Standards Cooperation was holding a competition open to everyone to design a poster for World Standards Day in 2011.

The theme was ‘International Standards – Creating confidence globally’. The competition received 2000 votes online, and the winning poster consists of a simplistic design of two hands with minimalistic colours which results in an effective advert. The winner described how the hands represented reassurance, honesty and helpfulness of man.

In October, members of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and ITU (International Telecommunication Union) will come together to celebrate Worlds Standards Day which pays tribute to the experts who develop the technical agreements that make up the international standards. The winner of the competition should be very proud of herself creating such an eye catching poster, and who knows it could be you next year!
