It has been reported by the BSI (British Standards Institute) that standards contribute £8.2 billion to UK economy!
Research from Cebr (commissioned by BSI) suggests that the use of standards boosted our UK economy by £8.2 billion in 2014, up from £2.5bn in 2005. The report also showed us that 37.4% of UK productivity growth could be credited to the use of standards. This is very interesting data which highlights the benefits (and importance) of standards in business, they not only boost productivity but they improve performance… This kind of research is very important; it certainly acknowledged the fact that investing in standards pays dividends for the companies that use them.
